7) glitch experiments

NOTE: This is not my photography, I was simply using it as a means of experimenting different techniques as I didn't own any close up portrait shots at the time.

In this edit I was mainly testing using the  rectangular marquee tool to cut out areas a place them just off of where they're suppose to be. This was to try and create a glitch/disrupted affect to the photo. I used the rectangular marquee and add noise filter to created the noise strips on the left hand side. I really like them as they look really tech-e and the rainbow of colours gives a nice effect.

I really like this edit because I've taken her smooth skin and gorgeous eyes and set them back so that they're no longer the focus of the image.

This edit was done by duplicating the layer twice so I had three versions of this image. For the bottom layer I used 'filter' > 'noise' > 'add noise' and chose the highest amount of 400%.

For the second layer I used the blur tool to blur her right eye. I also changed the opacity of the layer to 75%

For the third layer I used the smudge tool to smudge her left eye. I also moved it slightly to the right to give the motion blur effect. I also changed the opacity of the layer to 50%

I chose close up photos of attractive female models because I felt messing up and deconstructing their faces would have a greater impact.

This IS my photograph, I was experimenting using some of the previous techniques with a landscape shot. I was experimenting seeing was worked well, was techniques complimented each other and which ones to stay clear of.
